ABOUT THE OWNERS
It's been quite a journey from our 20s when we visited those charming, independently-owned businesses, imagining the joy of owning a store and connecting with our community. Surprisingly, that dream never faded. In 2008, we embarked on a different adventure by establishing West Side Stories Petaluma, a production company dedicated to celebrating storytelling. You can learn more about our endeavors at DavePokornyPresents, the heart of our company. Working together has always been a blast, and we even ventured into organizing The Wine Country Spoken Word Festival a couple of times despite being plagued by fires on both occasions.

In 2018, we came to a realization – if we were ever going to open our own storefront, the time was now (after all, we're not getting any younger, right?). So, we dipped our toes into the world of Slush, or as most people know it, Italian Ice, and some even call it Water Ice on the East Coast. Initially, we went the franchise route, but soon realized we had a vision to expand the menu and make it uniquely ours. Thus, in 2022, we made the bold decision to break away from the franchise and opened Once Upon A Slush. We played on the theme of storytelling and storybook, because that's what we're all about.

We absolutely love being able to be ourselves and are genuinely excited every single day to serve our wonderful community.
